No, a hard-coded offset for one octavation gives bad positioning for 
other octavations. The code that calculates the X-offset is in 
define-grobs.scm (search for OctavateEight). I played around with it for 
a while, but changes that I made to improve the alighment of one 
ottavation made the others worse...
