The plate in the video is shiny silver, so it clearly can't be copper. Zinc
and pewter tend to be dull. My guess is that it was aluminium.
In one of the videos I heard the mention of lead. Given how gentle the hammer
strokes were I think they were probably lead. Lead is shiny when freshly
scraped.
