Dear Javier,
the approach you describe reflects actually the standard practice 
adopted in 18th century, and still used in the next one: alterations 
affect all the consecutive notes of the same pitch, until a different 
pitched note appears, regardless of the bar. So, alterations on 
non-consecutive notes of the same pitch must be repeated, although 
occurring in the same bar.
In present editions, this notation is generally uniformed to the modern 
one - eventually putting the added alterations in parentheses or brackets.
