I don't know anything about optimising.
Searching the archives, it seems that optimising is enabled in every released version.
IIUC, it could be disabled for compiling LilyPond from master.
How to do, i.e what should I type?
I found no hint in our manuals.

thanks for the hint.

Meanwhile I tried:

address@hidden ~/lilypond-git/build (master)$ ../configure --disable-optimising
[skipping the output]
address@hidden ~/lilypond-git/build (master)$ make
[skipping the output]

Though, while compiling the code with this built I couldn't reproduce the error Luis reported.
What am I missing?
