It's a set of examples. The text describes how to specify all available
combinations. The normal combinations are those without < and > signs,
so it's 2*4*2 combinations at least. The combination without dot is not
actually played, but it might still be interesting in the context of
Midi-equipped accordions (switching the acoustic reeds off) so
I probably should add it for completeness.
There are some exceptions, like 2⅔' reeds but they don't really have
standardized symbols

Usually you'll get along reasonably with the normal 15 combinations in
literature.
