Gentlemen,

 

In context, Schubert Impromptu D. 899, the command lines

 

\once\override Score.BarLine #'transparent = ##t

  \once\override Score.SpanBar #'transparent = ##t

  \bar"|"

 

Inserted the key change correctly. Lilypond maintained spacing and broke the line after the key change. Measure numbers are correct.
