Janek told me that they use the Feta font, which might lead to think that the typesetting "engine' is lilypond. But MuseScore has its own typesetting engine.

Some weeks ago it's been reported here a tweet saying that MuseScore developers will drop the lilypond export and focus on musicxml export.
