Hi Richard,

I had no problems with:

\markup {
    \with-url #"http://lilypond.org/";
    \epsfile #X #5 #"note.eps"
}

and the attached eps-file.
Though, I seem to remember that sometimes certain eps-files don't work.
Try to redo creating the eps
