I dare not question Chopin.  Attached is the same passage from a different edition of same piece.

Same concept with yet more acrobatics, using a branched stem (!).

Need help with notation for a <b! bes!> chord.

Original typeset places the accidentals to the left of each notehead, while LP is bundling accidentals to one side and noteheads in other.
