Very shortly for now: you don't draw such combined glyphs yourself. Instead you create pdf "glyphs" with Lilypond and incorporate these.

I'll help you with that and we'll include the stuff in the package.

How did you get lilyglyphs (git, package download, latex distro (which?))?
