What is the instrument? An acciaccatura is a slur made by playing
the small note and the note to which it is tied simultaneously and
then quieting the small note. It can only be done on a polyphonic
instrument, and it is unlikely to be seen much without a
chord or after the baroque. A normal slur is a legatura.
