WTF are you doing there?
First of all, I hate HTML mails but the text version doesn?t provide the
lilybin link.
Then you use dozens of variables with numbers as names which makes the
code very confusing.
The variable ? contains only one rest which is forced to a certain
pitch. This is why you see no difference in the output: Two of these
rests are there but both of them are forced to the center of the staff.
This forced positioning shouldn?t be necessary because LilyPond?s
default output looks the same but is more robust concerning
transposition etc.
off-topic: The second chord in m. 2 isn?t playable on the piano if you
don?t have giant hands (I don?t know a single pianist who can play
that). Are you sure that this is correct?
