Sorry, rubbish. Not standard musical praxis. Think about it – you would often have to have all notes on the right or left. One never sees this. The dispostiion of notes either side of the stem is for clarity of reading to avoid overlap. Pure and simple. But … there are contemporary composers who do use the notehead sign to signify some concepts, but this is not mainstream.
