This revised function works marvelously for me. I did have to look up
the arguments to ly:make-duration in order to figure out what the
appropriate settings were for the different conventions (first argument
is exponent of denominator in base 2 for note duration, i.e. -1 for
breve, 0 for whole note, and 1 for half), but I've now noted the
comments close by so I won't forget. Thanks for the help.
