Hi Malte,

I tried the code and it works fine; it's actually quite promising.

I cannot talk anymore using the last MME because it does not reflect
the full project.
I made it so the cadenza is a duration of 1 (which is a few systems long).
This needs the \Remove{,All}EmptyStaves to work correctly.

"Others" now needs the ackward e.g.:
  \scaleDurations 1/20 {fs2\ppp\fermata r\fermata |}
  \stopStaff
  \scaleDurations 19/20 s1
  \startStaff
inside the score \tag, because, now that "others" are "lined-up" to
the cadenza, line-breaking becomes impossible (or rather visually
broken).

I peppered bars (e.g: \bar "") at most beam breaks in the cadenza thus
enabling LilyPond to brake lines correctly at all "possible" places (I
have different editions (letter, big-letter, tablet, score, etc) so
manual line breaking is unacceptable).

Thanks a lot Malte, lots of tweaking to do but it sure seems to be a
good approach (for me anyway).
