But I handled a similar problem once using a volta bracket,
only it was the other way round: indicating what might be missing.


I started the bar with
\bar "||"
\set Score.repeatCommands = #'((volta "ORIGINAL"))

and ended it with
\allowVoltaHook "||"
\bar "||"
\set Score.repeatCommands = #'((volta #f))

and in the bar I applied
\set fontSize = #-4
