I just discovered that in English, there’s a shorter way to name notes that would normally be specified with “-sharp” or “-flat”: “s” and “f”.  E.g. “f-sharp” can be written as “fs” and “b-flat” can be written as “bf”.

However, I noticed that this is not documented in the Music Glossary: https://lilypond.org/doc/v2.24/Documentation/music-glossary/pitch-names. Only the “-sharp” and “-flat” name are mentioned there.  Is there a reason this behavior is not documented?  It is certainly much easier to type the shorter name than the longer one but I don’t want to rely on something that might break unexpectedly.

The place to look for this information is in the Notation Reference, not the music glossary.

https://lilypond.org/doc/v2.24/Documentation/notation/writing-pitches#note-names-in-other-languages

At the bottom of that page there is a list of all the alteration suffixes in all the languages.
