Dear Devels,
As per:
https://f-droid.org/wiki/page/org.linphone
Anti-Feature: Non-Free dependency. Linphone uses Google Cloud
Messaging, which is a free software library but only works if the user
has a Google account on their phone.
Some Linphone users will use Linphone without a Google account on
their phone. And as such it seems quite limiting and not in the
open-source spirit to disallow chatting in Linphone with a Google
account.
Are you considering dropping this dependency in favor of something
less constrained and privacy-challenged?
Regards,
Liviu
