[LKDP] slab.tex update

I've committed slab.tex. Most of it was formatting changes, mainly minor
as a result of an audit Rene did. I think I've committed it right but I
don't use CVS very often. I checked it back out and it appears ok. If
there is something I missed, feel free to point and laugh.

The bufctl was the only major part I didn't write out. I'll write it as
part of the free functions entry. Either way, the chapter needs serious
restructuring as it's just above Rough Note category at the moment. I aim
to get it sorted out before next Tuesday. If it's not done by then, it'll
be two weeks before it's around as I'll be offline from next Tuesday on.
