First of all, thanks a lot to Jeff for the great work!
My first impressions:
The man page don't document all new options. Neither do the -u (ask
for usage) option. I really would like that -u tells about everything
(including the -S safety option and the -V version option).
Scaling overwide paragraphs is a very good idea. May I suggest that
the warning message tells the scale factor?; eg instead of having (I'm
louting the user guide after changing some font size)
lout file "ap_qck" (from "all" line 41):
113,9: word @F { fixed-width font } horizontally scaled (too wide for 3.547c
paragraph
)
I would prefer
113,9: word @F { fixed-width font } horizontally scaled 0.76 (too wide for
3.547c paragraph)
I'm still missing argument passing options. I still would prefer
invoking Lout with
lout -o myoutfile.ps address@hidden'{Times Base 10p}' all
# (My shell requires the ' quotes)
Perhaps Lout could put arguments into a @Arg predefined object, much
like @Moment is... Just a thought... Argument passing thru main's
argc, argv interface is standard ISO C, not a Unix specific stuff...
instead of editing the all file and then running
lout -o myoutfile.ps all
