No, you didn't.
The technical answer is that lout sizing and constraint satisfaction
algorithm makes all the galley components to have the same width (in
particular that's why flowing text around a figure (that I posted
recently) reuqires horizontal galleys).
You can, perhaphs, @Rotate the body of the slide, but the page headers
and footers will still appear in places determined by the global page
orientation.
