I tried to write a crude Perl script to convert AFM headers into an
@FontDef suitable for inclusion into Lout. This turned out to be a big
pain in the ass because Lout attempts to standardize notation for italic
and bold face type, but the fonts are pretty piss-poor when it comes to
standards.
Does Lout absolutely need a font registered as 'Base', 'Slope', and
'BoldSlope'? I presume that macros such as @B{} and @I{} will not work
without them.
There's got to be a better way. Manually doing this sucks.
