Hi Peter,

IIRC that particular version is used because it was the last one
that doesn't depend on dbus. Although I can understand it could
be good to have a later bluez available, I'm not yet sure it should
be the default. So for now, if you make a new spec file, call it
something like bluez-x.y.spec. Also remember to build dbus.

Thanks.  I pulled in expat, dbus, but dbus fails to build with Alan's patch with:

gcc -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -g -O2 -Wall -Wchar-subscripts -Wmissing-declarations -Wmissing-prototypes -Wnested-externs -Wpointer-arith -Wcast-align -Wdeclaration-after-statement -fno-common -Wno-unused -Wno-sign-compare -Wno-pointer-sign -Wno-format -fno-strict-aliasing -Wl,--gc-sections -o dbus-daemon-launch-helper activation-helper-bin.o config-loader-expat.o config-parser-common.o config-parser-trivial.o desktop-file.o utils.o activation-helper.o  /usr/lib/libexpat.so ../dbus/.libs/libdbus-convenience.a

And yes, there are .la files in rpm/BUILD/dbus-1.1.12/ that have "libdir='/usr/lib'".  What's the best way to fix this so the .la files don't look in /usr/lib?

I followed the workaround you suggested from gtk2.spec, and that works.  Now bluez-4.3.3 is looking for glib2.  What is getting scary is the rampup in footprint to include expat, dbus, glib2 to get bluez-4.33 to build.  I haven't het collected numbers, but I'm not sure its going to be viable for an embedded system...

The bluez-2.25 package in LTIB is no longer supported by bluez.org -
does anyone have packages/patches/spec files for a newer version (4.33?)
