If I remember correctly, it was because he wanted to queue data that was
in ROM...

This is rather old...
I'm CCing to lwip-users to get some comments.
I don't really understand why Marc Wells did it this way, instead of
preallocating PBUF_POOLs and giving those to the RX-queue of the
ethernet device...
I'm aware that PBUF_REFs do have some corners that are not clear to me
(especially ARP queueing). But I'm not sure if we need the 'real buffer
pointer'.
Any comments?
