Yes, I'm also using the raw api, so only including this in sockets.h does not
really help much.
I think it's a question of project philosophy if we only want C users to use
lwIP or C++ users, also. In my opinion, it's an unnecessary obstacle when
including lwIP into C++ projects.
In fact, Christiaan said

but as it is now, lwIP is _not_ compatible with C++.
