Follow-up Comment #16, bug #19347 (project lwip):

Some code comments to explain what the reason for the LWIP_NETIF_API is for,
and how to use the API would be great, but otherwise I have no problem with
this.

Out of interest, why was it necessary to define a new message type rather
than just using/extending the existing API message?
