Follow-up Comment #30, patch #5960 (project lwip):

I think this task should stay open, for the "one thread read, another one
write on a tcp connection". Just a sample for that: a remote serial port
(like moxa products). And any other full duplex protocol.

About task#1549, I will prefer the Kieran title "new higher performance
Sockets API", and yes, it will perhaps do twice the job. But, once again, due
to the time already spend to improve current architecture, it will be good to
keep it for the next release, without do too lot changes in tcpip_thread...

(I will also do measures with Mumtaz to compare performances on the same
target...)
