Follow-up Comment #12, task #7054 (project lwip):

I didn't have participate to bug#20254. But like I say in comment#10, if we
don't support "broken" compilers, so, we don't have to support gcc !!! (and
of course, it could seems crazy to do that).

If we tell that we only support ANSI C99 compliant compilers, so, we could
tell that "inline functions" is a feature we can used in lwIP source code
(since it's in the standard!!!), but in this case, bye-bye gcc users (see
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.2/c99status.html).

I think that your INIT_NULL is a little change which help some users (and it
doesn't change code for people who don't have this problem). If the change
was a big one, my point of view would be different, but in this case...
