Follow-up Comment #29, bug #20515 (project lwip):

In principle, if other side follow TCP specification it wouldn't send
anything beyond receive window that was announced.
There is no reducing of efficiency.

It is not powerful argument, but if we accept packets that "almost:)" in
announced window we increase the danger of TCP attacks.

For me the only reason is simplicity.
If we announced something we should follow this rule ourselves.
Can you remember dispute early that we shouldn't close already announced
window?
