Hi Simon,

This was a long time ago and my previous employer still has my notes on this but I recall that no, reads should not be allowed (read callback is null?) and there was a gotcha in GET_NEXT.

Sorry I can't be of more help. The project was cancelled so I never got around to submitting a change myself.
