Follow-up Comment #4:

Still, the patch doesn't do what you want: we rely pretty much on implicit
variable initialization (for variables initialized to NULL, zero or something
like that). And mailboxes, semaphores and so on aren't deleted, as I already
mentioned.

As such and as this patch bloats the code even if shutdown is not used, I
vote against it.

Please repoen if you disagree.
