Follow-up Comment #18, task #10088 (project lwip):

My comments were all about the sockets API calls, not the raw API.  The raw
API will differ slightly in semantics because, for example, it has no recv
buffering and so there isn't that issue.

At the socket API Stevens Vol II suggests that shutdown(RDWR) is not the same
as close()
