Sylvain,
like I have already written before, I'd suggest to merge ppp-new into the master branch now. I can't see that keeping the current code for 1.5.0 makes much sense, and I think the little developer power we have is better spent on the master tree.
Once the merging is done, we can work on/close the bugs and patches related to PPP.
