Hi Marco,
I'm sorry, but the patch is too intrusive and makes things too complicated.
I'd also have to patch the MIB Compiler and recheck everything works.
If I had known you plan to change the API I would have told you earlier that
is not a good idea.
How about simply returning a special length value that indicates an error
(need a #define for it!), e.g. 0xFFFF.
