Follow-up Comment #41, bug #50837 (project lwip):

That sounds like an interesting solution that could work for us!

Can we combine this with sending a segment partly once the persist timer has
fired (instead of sending a probe then)? Of course we would still have to
*start* the persist timer earlier than the standard - if a pre-packaged
segment doesn't fit into the window.
