Try using vim (or about any other source editing tool) to open the .txt 
files. If I had to guess, the default tool for opening .txt files on 
your system does not play nicely with mixed file types (DOS/UNIX/MAC).

He was probably looking at the pdf on http://www.sics.se/~adam/lwip/ 
which dates to February 20, 2001. This is *not* up to date of course, 
but it's up to Adam (and it's result position in google) to point this 
out clearly. We don't link to this documentation as far as I know.

Aside from that, we *did* update the doc files coming with lwIP (in the 
doc directory) since then. If there's still something wrong or missing, 
please let us know what.

Would you mind telling us what you mean by "the result looks nasty"? I 
could imagine the one who made the ecos port (or the lwIP package) has 
somehow mixed windows- with unix-line-endings?
