I understand the reasons for your mods, but personally I like to have the
header information at the top. My version of your example would be:
Re: Lynx interview? [My answers]

From this line then, the body of the message begins. With only three lines of
header information, and I would argue that these are the only ones necessary,
I believe even people using text-to-voice converters should be okay. Please
notice that the * Subject: header is redundant and should be deleted from the
header list. (Even my example is redundant, except that I would use the title
bar for other information, e.g., the actual URL of the present article.) The
* To:, * Reply-To:, and * Sender: headers serve no purpose and should not be
included in the list. Also notice that I have removed the absurd LYNX-DEV from
the subject line. (Why absurd? It's in EVERY subject line.) Any archive of
lynx-dev should employ Will Mengarini's `filterLynxDevCruft' to remove not
only the LYNX-DEV, but also the `unsubscribe' garbage at the end. (It can be
easily expanded to remove quoted unsubscribe messages.)
I wholeheartedly agree that the:
_________________________________________________________________
[1][Prev][2][Next][3][Index][4][Thread]
should be done away with, because it's already at the bottom of the page where
it should be anyway. (And certainly with each item on a separate line.)
Woulda dunnit meeself, but for the infamous `nano'-kB bandwidth. ;-) __Henry
