That shouldn't be a regular file, but a subdirectory tree with the same
structure as /etc/terminfo/ OR /usr/lib/terminfo/ (or wherever Slackware
installs the terminfo files now). And it shouldn't normally be required
at all - it is just a personalised version of the general terminfo
files.

You have to familiarize yourself with the operation system you are using -
in this case the Slackware distribution. You should have a /usr/doc
directory tree and man pages. Try `man ncurses', `man terminfo'.
You might also follow Larry's advice and install non-Slackware ncurses
yourself. That shouldn't be necessary, but if your system is too
confused maybe it's time for a fresh start..
