LYNX-DEV Re: Setting up a fund for specific development?

Greetings. [Lack of a folloup on my previous post hints of lack of
interest but what the heck...]

Is there any interest/how feasible would it be to set up some fund
for directed and specific funding of programming of lynx? I'm not
sure how many people would be willing to donate some monies to
such fund but as long as someone organizes it, I'll start it with
$50. If Lynx is GNU, does that make such a fund non-profit and
hence tax-deductible?

If we could gather up a few hundred bux, we could make development
in all the key and lacking areas (but hard to some of us who are
more sunday-coders than real programmers) attractive to other (and
maybe even current) developers...

Or do I need a reality check?

P.S. I've been told that our club, because it is part of the university,
could get non-profit status with just a phonecall and filling a few
short forms... I can find out more on this... I'm treasurer for the
Geology Club this term so need to investigate this anyways... [sigh :-]
