We will be creating another filename inconsistent with an 8+3
filesystem, such as DOS, where we can call it _lynx, if you wish. On the
DOS system, HOME is generally specific to lynx, with clutter not a
problem. The only files I know of that must go in HOME are .lynxrc and
Lynx.trace. Bookmarks must only be specified relative to HOME. I guess I
don't see the clutter. What is HOME for, if not for .xxxrc type files?
