do vi and smit use terminfo or termcap? (one may be correct, and the
other not). I've a wyse60 emulation at work, could retest that - but
don't have AIX (so I can offer general advice).
looking at wyse60's cursor keys: I see it's one of those where the
key_down is a newline (so perhaps that's the problem - it's ambiguous
for forms-entry stuff that's not specially coded). Likewise, key_left
is a backspace.
