Then you don't.

Yes it should, especially if you are seeing colors. You could check in
lynx_cfg.h or by following the "compile time settings" link from a '=' page.

That answers my questions - I was just wildly guessing anyway.
I don't seem to see the same effect, with either a slang or a solor style
version of 2.8.1rel.2.
