Larry,That page, much like it seems the fox news site is apparently worried about the user agent header.
I just tried your link and indeed got the 403 forbidden error.however when I chose the options menu in lynx, and unchecked the send user agent header, the page loads perfectly. It can be a tad of a dance, but this setting does not remain changed by default.
Amazon used to dot he same thing.I frankly wish Lynx had better press. More technical people know about it, and yet the user agent header can present this problem. I cannot remember what site still did not work after the change, but making it can open more doors.
Hope that is helpful, karen On Thu, 7 May 2015, Hart Larry wrote:
`well. Almost as frustrating as a lack of javascript support, are pages such as a European site of Politico. If I try-and-visit http://politi.co/1E9VmB2 I receive a 403 forbidden error, says something about nginx. An only other way of reading this in Lynx, grab the page with wget-and-rename to an extention of .html. But then I cannot click on any urls as at the bottom of the page, says, "more file" instead of an url. elinks does work with politico.eu. In addition, I really wanted a simpler printer version of individual stories, but seems to be hidden in javascript. Thanks in advance if some1 can please examine.
