Thanks for your feedback.
I tried to minimize the example; but I went one step too far.
The following should show the problem (lynx 2.9.0dev.6):

<ul><li><h2>Renaissance</h2>Scientist discovered many things.</li></ul>

This markup is strange, but valid.
