Is done.  (Just in case it comes up in the future for other projects:
you could have done it too, from "mailing lists" -> "configure" in
savannah.)

    I would like to make address@hidden an alias to
    the new address@hidden list, and was planning on updating
    the aliases file on fencepost to do that.  

That is the proper way.  Please go ahead and do so.  I added c-d as an
alias at http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/admin/coreutils/privacy/recipient.
