I was trying to compile microdc2 on CentOS 6.4 and the configure file ran properly, but make failed stating: undefined reference to `try_utf8_to_main_string'
This problem got solved on installing libxml2-devel. Please add the check for this test in configure so that one comes to know which package is missing.
