MinGW has printf, but gnulib and (indirectly) gettext provide a
replacement because the MinGW version has some problems, see

I think this should be reported to either address@hidden

I remember that the problem of multiple definitions of the same symbols
was discussed on bug-gnulib a while ago, but I cannot find a reference
now.
