No luck with that, I also tried calling make with SUBDIRS=m4 src, but
the result is the same.

Also, these variables seem to no longer exist in the Makefile:

bin_PROGRAMS sbin_PROGRAMS noinst_PROGRAMS

The other thing I tried was replacing sed in the potomo script - no change.
