In most cases where it doesnt recognize the host, you can copy the config.* 
files from /usr/libexec/ to the directory you are in and it usually works. If 
it doesnt, ./configure ppc usually does.

Try to install the Ocaml binary: since i did, compilation of
edonkey works without problems
