Summary:  Selections not resetted when disconnecting

Original Submission:  gtk GUI:

When files are selected, and the GUI is disconnected/reconnected to the core, 
files are still (internally) selected, as you can check by trying to cancel 
selected files, etc.

The only way to clear the selection is to exit the GUI :(
